Compass Workshop For Seek Students
Do you need to take and pass the CUNY Math Skills Assessment Test?
We have a workshop that has been set up for SEEK students that serves just that purpose.
How will it work?
The instruction is based on a computer-tutorial package called PLATO and video supplements. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE COMPUTER LITERATE TO USE THE PLATO PROGRAM – in fact, all you need to be able to do is type your name and you are all set. With this approach, you will be able to see what topics you really know and skip over these, and concentrate on topics for which you need help.
When is it?
The workshop can be scheduled at varying times of the day or evening (Monday through Saturday) depending on your schedule but you will need to commit to four hours per week.
How, where, and when do you sign up?
Please see the receptionist in Room 300N as soon as possible to make an appointment for your orientation. This office is open Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays 10:00-1:00 and 2:00-4:00; and Wednesdays from 10:00-1:00 and 2:00-5:45. If you cannot come during these hours, you may e-mail me at bbarone@hunter.cuny.edu
During the orientation appointment, you will be registered, shown how the workshop will run, and have the times confirmed for you to work on the material.
What if you have other questions?
All of your questions will be answered when you come to the orientation. With confidence and determination, you will succeed in this program.
